Emulation II

UVI Emulation II+ | Emulation II
Used across countless hit records and film scores of the '80s, the sounds of Emulation II are rich and immediate. With over 300 layers recorded directly from a fully-restored Emulator II, and again on the rare Oberheim DPX-1 (switch machines by pressing the “DPX” toggle in the UI), you get an exhaustive collection of officially licensed presets from the exclusive OMI libraries “Universe of Sounds” volumes 1 and 2. Emulation II gives you unparalleled access to the authentic lo-fi sounds of this iconic hit-maker.

Emulation I

UVI Emulation II+ | Emulation I
Emulator was the first “affordable” 8-bit sampler, released in 1981. Emulation I is a modern creative exploration of this vintage classic, delivering both old and all-new sounds. With a warm collection of samples loaded on floppy and recorded from the hardware, you get hundreds of lo-fi sounds, from orchestral to electronic, classic to modern genre. Emulation I is a versatile and charactered instrument with plenty of surprises.

Emulation III

UVI Emulation II+ | Emulation III
Featuring a more robust system with higher fidelity engine, the Emulator III has a classic vintage-era sound with a twist. Featuring the original licensed sounds from OMI, you get over 240 layers recorded directly from the hardware. Emulation III completes the famous trinity of '80s sample-synths with a unique and complementary library of sounds including plenty of bass, leads, bells, pads, orchestral, and much more.

Common Architecture

UVI Emulation II+ | Architecture
All instruments in Emulation II+ share the same layout and base functionality, with the exception of Emulation II's special DPX mode, making it seamless to switch between instruments and stay focused on the sound. ADSR envelopes over amplitude and multimode filter, pitch and voice controls including unison, vibrato, tremolo, and a filter LFO all controllable by modwheel, an effects section with drive, redux, chorus, phaser and eq, and a powerful 64-step phraser/arpeggiator with scale quantization. Altogether you have complete control and creative flexibility.

Drumulation+

UVI Emulation II+ | Drumulation+
Over 2400 individual drum sounds plus 210 preset kits with sequences equals one massive vintage drum machine. Drumulation+ contains all elements from the original Drumulator along with drums and percussive samples from the Emulator, Emulator II, and Emulator III. Finally, we’ve included a full set of original sounds from the classic SP12, making it an extraordinary and inspiring source for classic lo-fi beats.
Drumulation+ gives you an 8-part drum machine with pan, +/-24 semitone pitch, decay, drive, hi- and lo-pass filters, 2 reverb and 2 delay sends, and drive and eq bus effects. Use the built-in sequencer with per-part clock divider to instantly create beats, then drag-and-drop the MIDI to your DAW of choice. With both stereo and multi-channel outputs Drumulation+ is ready to integrate into even the most demanding mixes.

Massive multis

UVI Emulation II+ | Multis
A powerful and inspiring music-making instrument, the Emulation II+ Multi gives you Drumulation+ and 4 customizable slots that can be loaded with any combination of Emulation I, II, or III instrument layers. Use the built-in phraser/arpeggiators to create full song ideas, or play the layers in stack, using the amps and filters to create huge new sounds. A formidable studio in its own right, the Emulation II+ Multi gives you near limitless sound and phrase design potential in an inspiring and quick-to-master layout.
A deep and jam-packed instrument capable of everything from 4-part stacked sounds to incredible vintage drums and inspiring song sketchpad with discrete 64-step arpeggiator/phrasers. With patterns, sounds, arps, and effects all completely customizable, and the authentic sound of vintage hardware, Emulation II+ is a powerful instrument and instant gratification machine ready to inspire for years to come.

Reviews

UVI Emulation II+ | Jason Miles
"I’m totally knocked out by Emulation II+. UVI has made not one but 3 classic samplers and the classic Drumulator and SP12. They have almost perfectly created the sound of the Emulator 1,2,3... It really opened my ears when I heard them. Each maintains the classic sound of the original instruments. You can even hear the difference in audio and the change from 8 bit to 16 bit. The Drum machine part is an extra that also is excellent. The sounds and the beats they included are totally representative of the instrument. A total winner on every musical level. This is a no brainer. You’ll get a smile on your face when you hear how close these are to the hardware versions of the instruments. I know I’m smiling and enjoying the many possibilities that this plug in offers."

"I always dreamed of the first Emu Emulator 1... Just something about it, it was so special, no velocity sensitivity, but man - it was cool! So here we are now with not only that, but also the Emulator 2 and 3! These sounds have so much character. It really takes me back. Just incredible!"
