We highly recommend using an iPad 4 or newer.
What is the minimum iOS version supported?
We highly recommend using iOS 8.
Can I assign MIDI CC controllers?
We currently have transport parameters available as follow:
- Stop > CC#117
- Play > CC#118
- Record > CC#119
I cannot play a sample in Stretch Mode below Midi note C1 and above C5, is that normal?
Yes, this is a limitation of the stretch oscillator, the pitch shift limit is +/- 2 octaves from Midi note C3.
I have latency when pushing pads, how can I solve this out?
You can reduce the audio buffer size in Audio/MIDI Preferences.
Can I receive signal in BeatHawk via Inter-App Audio or Audiobus?
Not at this time. BeatHawk is currently only able to send audio signal via Inter-App Audio or Audiobus.
Can I remotely sync BeatHawk to another app?
Yes, BeatHawk can be synced with any application that supports the WIST protocol.
Some factory songs are glitching, is that normal?
On older hardware you may notice some latency due to the demo songs being resource hungry (multi-sampled instruments using a lot of polyphony). We highly recommend an iPad4+ to get the best performance.
Can I set folders in my User Library?
Yes, from Browser > User Library, tap on the Menu icon and select ‘New Directory.
Can I set sub-folders in my User Library?
Not at the moment.
How can I import my own samples from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive?
From Browser > User Library, tap on the Menu icon or any User folder then ‘iCould - Import File”. By default, this open your iCloud Drive. You can switch to Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive via ‘Locations’.
How can I export my Mix, Stems, Midi exports or my recorded sounds to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive?
From Browser > User Library, tap any file then select ‘iCloud - Export File’. By default, this open your iCloud Drive. You can switch to Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive via ‘Locations’.
I have issues with my In-App Purchases, what should I do?
Please check to make sure you’re running the latest version of BeatHawk, go the Menu in Browser, select ‘Restore Purchases’ and go to the expansion packs page to download it.
If you still have issues, please contact us via the online form. Please include the ‘Beathawk_Output.log.txt’ file located in iTunes File Sharing / BeatHawk.
How do I quit BeatHawk?
Double tap the Home button of your iPad, identify BeatHawk and “sweep” it to the top of the screen
How do I uninstall BeatHawk?
Tap and hold the BeatHawk icon until it “shakes”, then tap on the ‘X’ at top left corner.
Or, connect your iPad to iTunes, go to the File Sharing section, identify BeatHawk and select Uninstall.
